The International Journal of Surgical Pathology

The International Journal of Surgical Pathology has instituted a program of making digital slides associated with published case reports available online. This feature has been made retroactive, in the sense that it will include some of the cases published in past issues of the journal. In an effort to make the list as complete as possible, authors of Case Reports published before August 2006 will be invited to submit representative slides from their cases so that they may be incorporated into the repository, thereby providing access to entire-slide digital slide images in addition to the conventional printed photomicrographs that accompany each article in the Journal.

All cases have been scanned with a ScanScope CS produced by Aperio Technologies. Scanning is performed by Milestone S.R.L, a company based in Bergamo, Italy, that manufactures microwave units for rapid histoprocessing and instrumentation for macro digital imaging for grossing procedures. One of Milestone's stated goals is to provide pathologists with innovative tools to enable same-day diagnostic results. Their generous sponsorship of this new feature of the journal is greatly appreciated.
