Aperio and Cerner Develop Integrated Technology Solution for Anatomic Pathology

Digital Pathology Information Management System to LIS Interface Optimizes Information Access and Workflow

Vista, CA – February 11, 2009 – Aperio, a global leader in digital pathology for the healthcare and life sciences industry, and Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ:CERN), a leading supplier of healthcare information technology, announced today the development of an interface between Spectrum™, Aperio's digital pathology information management system, and the Cerner CoPathPlus®, pathology laboratory information system (LIS). The interface is designed to optimize workflow and facilitate access of digital slide images and case data between the two systems. The new technology was recently displayed at the APIII annual conference on Pathology Informatics and Diagnostic Imaging at the Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
